As you stare above, looking for life from these gargoyle statues, the stone they are mounted on starts to creak and crack. The gargoyles jump from their ledges, near you; pack hunters – they will enjoy this – gargoyles love killing intelligent creatures. But, before than can get any closer, you’ve already reached for a white feather, tossing it in the air while whispering mystic words – their eyes widen. From their point of view, they see what they dread the most from your cast of the Fear spell. They see the sun rising, something they haven’t seen yet – and fear the sunrays that could kill them – turning them into natural stone if they fall victim to its beams of light. As they hobble away in fear, with their wings tucked close to their bodies to help shield them, their backs are to you. You might be able to escape, attack them while they are disoriented in fear, or prepare a defense.
